CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Lab setup and Tutorial

In the next few weeks I am going to set-up a Cisco® lab in order to prepare for the CCNA® (Cisco® Certified Network Associate) exam 640-802. This complete guide and walkthrough is going to cover anything from buying the equipment necessary to go through the practical labs, to setting up the whole network.

I am going to use the following book:

“CCNA – Cisco® Certified Network Associate  STUDY GUIDE” by Todd Lammle, CCSI, Sixth Edition
ISBN: 978-0-470-11008-9
The book has a printed price of $49.99, but can be found at Amazon.com for about $30 new or $22 used.

Equipment used in this lab will be:

4 x Cisco® 2610 Routers
2 x Cisco® 2924 Switch
1 x Cisco® 2912 Switch

Along with the Cisco® equipment I am going to be using a Dell Latitude D610, Dell Dimension E510, iBook G3, old Gateway laptop and an Intel-based Macbook (my main computer).

8/1/06 Update:

Pictures of the rack. Sorry about the quality, but cell phone was the only camera available at the time. I will post better pics and configurations over the weekend, because I have nothing better to do ! Oh, the life of a nerd…
