Customizing iPhone/iPod touch section up!
I know when the app Customize was pronounced dead we all cried and mourned. Well, now that we have parted with Customize and are using Winterboard as a substitute for custom themes and icons, there is still no app out to Customize your System Strings.
Tired of seeing “Slide to Unlock” or “Missed Call”? Well follow the instructions in the new Customizing your iPhone/iPod touch Part 1 section!
Also coming soon is Custom Ringtones, Custom System Sounds (sms, mail, voicemail, dialer buttons, etc), Custom wall papers, custom icons, and finally how to put them together for use with WinterBoard to be able to switch the themes on and off!

I will <3 you forever if you post a nice and simple mac user way to add my own sms tones.
First you need to understand how to SSH (Log into) your phone.
Is this something you’re familiar with?
im working on it atm actually. I just installed open ssh and fugu and boss pref.
im not exactly familiar with it, but I’m a decently quick learner.
Good. When you’re all set up look for a free audio convertor for make.

I’m sitting here messing around with one of the premade downloadable themes at the moment. I like some things but not all of it ya know? thats the only reason why I miss customize. …i dont miss the crashing and being a POS part though lol
“WinterBoarding” is a little tricky, and takes time to understand.
I can show you the quick easy way of changing SMS tones, by just replacing the STOCK SMS tones.
For Example, when I press Tri-Tone, instead of the classic jingle, it plays the forever missed 24 CTU tone from customize.
Can’t figure out how to change the name from “Tri-Tone” but it works =)~
Customize was a great tool but when you learn how to SSH into your phone and “take control” Customize was just a piece of the pie!
Great stuff. Still miss customize, but this really lets you craft your iphone. Lata!
